article It’s always a good idea to make those near and dear to you smile during the holiday season! That’s why we’re spreading cheer and laughter with a few of our favorite seasonally-inspired OzoThings to help you get in the holiday spirit.  Check out some of the festive ways students and educators have captured the magic of the season with their Ozobots:

Evo is SO fetch

https://twitter.com/JK22460085/status/1466230096033947648 We promise we aren’t still trying to make “fetch” happen, but Evo may be bringing it back with this choreographed dance inspired by the popular 2004 movie Mean Girls. These clever students used Blockly to program their bots to mimic the iconic scene from the film where the girls performed “Jingle Bell Rock” during the school talent show. We are so impressed by the attention to detail, especially when Evo knocks over the stereo during the dance.

Reindeer Bot

https://twitter.com/MrsSarahJenkins/status/1468205927601885185 The best combination is mixing art and technology, so we loved this project from Mrs. Jenkins’ middle school students! The artwork is so beautiful and we loved to see Evo pulling Santa’s sleigh as a reindeer. Brilliant!

Don't forget dessert!

https://twitter.com/Gamerd0g/status/1468799531605057542 What are the holidays without pumpkin pie? Rene Perry’s sixth-grade student, Olivia, understood the assignment and wrote the algorithm for her Evo to deliver slices of pie to customers at a restaurant. Way to go, Olivia!

Fun with MetaBot

https://twitter.com/JudyTrusz/status/1469074024789684226 Earlier this month, we launched a new and exciting experience called MetaBot. If you haven’t heard yet, it is the first free augmented reality robot designed for education and it is completely free to use! One of the most fun parts about #MetaBot is the ability to dress your bot in costumes, including a few holiday-themed ones. We loved this Rudolph costume from Judy Trusz and Christmas hat costume from Nikki Jones!  https://twitter.com/mrsjones72812/status/1468663143677243393

Bots breakin' hearts

https://twitter.com/JK22460085/status/1468346540347604993 A few sixth grade students used Blockly to create this interpretation of the popular Christmas song “Last Christmas” by WHAM. In it, you’ll see an Evo giving its heart to another Evo, only to find that Evo gave it away to another. Oh, the heartbreak! Thank you to all our educators who shared their students’ creations. We love all of your ideas and creativity! Keep the wonderful ideas coming and be sure to tag @Ozobot or #Ozobot in your creations for a chance to be featured in our next roundup of favorite OzoThings. We can’t wait to see what you come up with in the new year!
