Engineers don’t just build things—they solve problems that make the world better. In this first-ever Ozobot Code & Conquer challenge, K–2 students will get the chance to Think Like an Engineer by designing solutions, testing ideas, and sharing their creativity with the world. This is a virtual competition that is open to students around the globe!
This season’s challenges include three challenges from the Ozobot Engineering Guide*:

Sorting Recyclables with Magnets with a focus on Mechanical Engineering

Cool Down at the Park with a focus on Design/Mechanical Engineering
The competition is designed to be thought-provoking, encouraging, and fun—whether you’re coaching in a classroom, after-school program, or at home.
Students will:

Practice the Engineering Design Process step by step.

Learn that great ideas come from iteration and teamwork.

Show off their creativity and coding skills through videos, photos, and reflections.
Most importantly, students will experience the satisfaction of seeing their own designs solve real problems and say, “I thought like an engineer—and I made a difference.”

For the team that presents their design in the clearest and most engaging way. This award celebrates strong communication skills (whether through speaking, visuals, or storytelling) that make the solution easy for others to understand and inspiring to watch.
3. Global Impact Award
For the team whose design shows how engineering can make life better for people, communities, or the world. This award celebrates students who connect their ideas to real issues, show empathy for the needs of others, and explain the broader impact of their solution.
4. Ingenuity Award
For the team that finds the most inventive way to use their Engineering Kit materials. This award celebrates thinking outside the box with what’s in their hands.
5. Ozobot in Action Award
For the team whose Ozobot performance is the most exciting to watch! This could be through clever use of Color Codes or block-based coding, smooth and well-planned movement, or surprising tricks that make the robot come alive. This award celebrates teams who add extra spark and fun to how Ozobot moves through their design.
